SoCal pop-punk outfit Unwritten Law fired longtime guitarist Rob Brewer final week following an onstage fracas that left frontman Scott Russo with one less tooth. Pivit bassist Micah Albao joined them in Seattle for the recording of their self-titled album Unwritten Regulation which was launched in 1998. They’ve retained a robust cult fanbase the world over since then, regardless of a slew of lineup changes affecting the band – frontman Scott Russo was, for some time, the one remaining founder member, although drummer Wade Youman rejoined the fold in 2013.
It includes 17 of the band’s most popular songs, most of which were re-recorded by the present lineup, as well as 2 new songs together with lead single “Shoulda Identified Better.” Interscope also released a “best of” compilation entitled twentieth Century Masters: The Millennium Assortment which incorporates songs from the albums Unwritten Legislation and Elva.
